Love Letter to my Beloved...

The other day I was feeling desperate in love, I hope you know the feeling...it is a hopeless torturous feeling, especially when you are far from the one you love, such as I. This is called "To my Cesar", and will be in my next book.

Wedding Season Commences...

Wedding season will be underway in the next month! The sun will shine brightly on those brides who choose to say their vows at summers beginning, and guests will gather to hear the "I Do's" of millions of couples through the next 61 warm days, and star filled nights.

Looking through a plethora of wedding magazines, garnering inspiration for my very own far off affair, I came across the calligraphy of a few exceptional people that I would love to have hand write my invitations. The company I fawned after most was beyondwordsscript.com, using the calligraphy of John DeCollibus. DeCollibus' beautiful red ink script on lavender paper was featured in a gorgeous layout in the Fall 2008 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings; very special indeed. I couldn't think of a more beautiful way to get the word out of a summer wedding.

If you decide to go all the way with your Love Letter, meaning, custom written, with stationary and all, might I suggest you employ the beautiful stylings of Jenna Hein, of Love Jenna. She has the most gorgeous and most creative hand writing that she has practiced since she was a young girl.

Looking around the web today, trying to build a network of letter writing and creative friends and resources, I looked up love letter writing and came across a site called Lovingyou.com, where they show many different love letters from people all over the globe, and also show you how to write a love letter. They provide the reader with suggestion on what should be included, such as "Make it Personal"..."Let them know how much you appreciate them being in your life", which is very true of love letters, but then I was thinking, sometimes you just want to lay everything out on the line, without being so fluffy about it, which the the list comes off to be, in a way. BUT, I think the list is good, as well as the site, for those who wish to navigate the process on their own.

The Art of the Love Letter

There are many times when I sit and think about a man that I am/was in love with, or someone that I would like to get to know better, and then the writing just pours out of me. I believe that the art of the love note is in the complete focused randomness of it all. “Focused Randomness”…I know that’s an oxymoron, Focus and Randomness are polar opposites, but that's not to say they cannot go together. When I write, I seem to have a cluster of ideas and feelings in my head and body all at once, many different thoughts and feelings that I need to get out, they move around and shift, and somehow take form on my paper or computer screen, where I am most able to focus these thoughts, and feelings, trim them or broaden them and turn them into something fluid. There are several books on the market that give samples of love letters, including different writing styles and categories. I find my love letters to be in the “longing” category a constant yearning, maybe it's because of the place I'm in now romantically? Give Love Letters a try, this book spans time, place and person with over 200 letters...get back to me and let me know what you think!

Welcome to the "LadyScribe" blog page! This is the first entry journaling the business and events of Lady Scribe! I am very excited to start my new venture! I have been journaling and blogging for several years, and have been writing love letters and notes for friends when they were unable to express how they feel, so I figurered why not share this gift with the rest of the world. I look forward to speaking with you and sharing thoughts.
